AN AMERICAN PRESIDENTIAL
PORTRAIT CHALLENGE
Mike is soon to issue a press release
regarding a public announcement about the
global Artist VS Computer Challenge, called
An American Presidential Portrait Challenge,
that is being made for the people, to fulfill a
promise made, and to benefit organizations
and agencies that Offer HOPE to the
ADDICTED and their FAMILIES.
Mike is also currently working on a book titled
PAINTING POSITIVE-REALISM PORTRAITS.
In this book, in a retrospective format, Mike draws
upon over 35 years of experience to share his
positive-realism approach to creating and painting
portraits. On the cover Mike is shown at work in
1992 on his group presidential portrait An
Historical Meeting at The White House.
He says, "America was founded upon great principles
and in America portrait painting is a
great longstanding tradition celebrating the
marvelsof the individual human spirit.
My art and life were transformed by a life
changing period of spiritual during the 1980s that
unexpectedly birthed a positive-realism creative
vision*. A positive-realism approach to creating
involves looking for and seeing the good in life
and translating that affirmative vision to one's art.
Positive-realism says, It Can be done with a
synergistic application of faith and hard work and
affirmative vision...that God is the greatest Artist.
May this book serve as an encouragement to all
who love and partake in the challenges of the art
of the portrait."
